The Fairmount Public Library strives to provide all of our patrons with a wide variety of materials in various formats to enrich the individual’s educational or recreational pursuits.
Books: We have a large collection of children, adult, reference, and large-print books available for check-out. Patrons may check out 5 for two weeks with 1 week grace. (see Reference check-out rules below)
Magazines: We also have a large collection of children, teen, and adult magazines, titles range from “National Geographic Kids” to “Sport’s Illustrated”. Patrons may check out 4 for 1 week with 1 week grace.
Audio Books: Our collection of audio books continues to grow. Much of this developing section includes popular works of fiction; however, non-fiction titles are also beginning to appear. Many of our borrowers find the audio books interesting listening on car journeys. They are a great way to listen to a book if you have trouble reading print. There are also a growing number of Teen and Juvenile titles available. Patrons may check out 6 for 1 week with 1 week grace.
Videos: We have an extensive children and family video collection. Patrons may check out 2 for two days with 1 day grace.
DVDS: Only adult library card holders (18 and up) may check out the DVDs. Patrons may check out 2 for two days with one day grace.
Music CDS: Adult and Teen library card holders may check out 2 CDs for two days with 1 day grace.
Kits-To-Go: Topic multi-media kits for preschool to third grade for use in schools, daycare, homeschooling, or educational learning at home. Adult patrons may check out 1 kit for two weeks with 1 day grace.
James Dean Collection: DVDs and videos in this collection may circulate 2 for 2 days, with no renewals. Books or pamphlets may circulate 2 for 1 week, with no renewals.
Reference Materials: Certain reference items may not circulate at the discretion of the librarian. Materials that do, 5 books for 1 week, with 1 week grace period.
